Solar Batteries
Store the energy you produce during the day to use it at night. Maximise your self-consumption on the Costa Blanca North.
Why install a solar battery?
Without a battery, you can only use solar energy while the sun is shining (around 40-50% self-consumption). The rest is exported to the grid at a very low price. With a battery, you store that surplus energy to use at night, raising your self-consumption to 75-88%.
This is especially useful if your highest electricity use is in the late afternoon and evening (cooking, air conditioning, lights, television).
What capacity do I need?
Battery capacity depends on your night-time electricity consumption:
- 5 kWh: For low consumption or as a top-up. Covers about 4-5 hours of basic night-time use.
- 10 kWh: The most popular choice. Covers night-time consumption for an average Costa Blanca home.
- 15 kWh: For homes with high consumption, a heated pool or an electric vehicle.
- 20 kWh: For large villas or anyone who wants maximum independence from the grid.
Latest-generation lithium batteries
We install lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries — the safest and longest-lasting battery technology on the market. These batteries have a lifespan of more than 6,000 cycles (around 15-20 years of real use), no fire risk and they hold their capacity well over time.
Every battery we install includes an intelligent battery management system (BMS) that optimises charging and discharging automatically.
Can I add a battery later?
Yes. If you start with just solar panels, you can add a battery later without any problem. Our installations are designed for it — we leave the wiring and space ready.
In fact, many customers begin with panels only and, once they see the savings, decide to add a battery to maximise them.
